UPDATE
Though I'm not making any money yet for my cause I am working towards my goal of fitting fitness into my regular life. Public accountability is a wonderful motivator even if the pledges aren't rolling in! I am encouraged by the results I'm seeing and feeling but am cognizant of having to reaffirm my commitment DAILY to get the job done. It's those habitual behaviours, like late night snacking and a sweet tooth I'm convinced is genetic, that are so hard to change. Read on for an update of the first 3 weeks of my Pounds for Preemies challenge.

What is Pounds for Preemies?
Desperate times call for desperate measures!
Pounds for Preemies is a fitness fundraising campaign to raise money for the 27th annual Z99 Cares Radiothon taking place March 13-14th, 2014 at the Cornwall Center in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. As always, the money raised goes towards purchasing equipment for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the Rawlco Centre for Mother Baby Care at the Regina General Hospital. Please help me to help them Save Babies’ Lives by supporting my fitness fundraiser.
Here’s how it works:
1) Pledge me by pounds lost OR by workouts completed in the 10 weeks leading up to the Radiothon from December 29th-March 9th.
Ø
My goal is to lose one pound/week for those 10
weeks!
Example
pledge: If I reach my goal a pledge of $5/pound could make your pledge total
$50; $10/pound, $100.
Ø
My goal is to get moving at least 3 times/week! A workout will
include a variety of cardio/strength activities for a minimum 15
minutes/session.
Example
pledge: If I reach my workout goal a pledge of $1/workout could result
in a pledge total of $30; $5/workout, $150.
Ø
Along with your pledge you can set a maximum
donation total so there are no surprises!
Ø
Hospitals of Regina Foundation provides tax
receipts for donations of $20 or higher.
Ø

pledge total is growing.
- You can subscribe to this blog for updates or I can email them to you.)

3)
After March 10th check your final pledge
total and donate directly to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation for the
Z99 Radiothon.
NOTE: My blog site does not provide direct payment options. I want your full
donation to go directly to the NICU rather than to payment administration fees.
At no point will you be asked to pay me directly! There are a variety of ways
you can make good on your pledge:
- Donate to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation online using your credit card at https://www.hrf.sk.ca/Donate. Please designate your amount to go to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit OR the Rawlco Center for Mother Baby Care. In the ‘Additional Information’ Comments section it would be great if you would note: Pounds for Preemies fundraiser for the Z99 Radiothon. (Copy & paste this in!)
